Canadian couple go home with more than they bargained for.

A Canadian couple traveling to Hawaii came home with an unexpected souvenir when their daughter was born prematurely during the trip. Upon arriving home, they received a $950,000 bill for the delivery. According to Darren Kimmel and Jennifer Huculak, a doctor cleared the couple to travel, and Ms Huculak, who was six months pregnant at the time, purchased travel insurance. On the couple’s second day in Hawaii, Ms Huculak’s waters broke, and the couple went to a local hospital for an emergency C-section, a procedure that required an additional two-month stay. Though the couple believed their insurance would cover the bill, the insurance company sent them a letter denying payment. The couple is now considering bankruptcy. Read more: independent.co.uk
