Statehouse on Beacon Hill, Boston where the time capsule was found.
Massachusetts State House, Boston.

A time capsule packed by Samuel Adams and Paul Revere in 1795 was opened in Boston on Tuesday evening and its contents revealed. The capsule is the oldest of its kind in the country and was unearthed from the cornerstone of the Massachusetts State House on 11 December during repairs. Experts spent hours carefully prising the 10-pound box open to reveal contents including coins, newspapers, documents and other memorabilia including a silver plaque with an engraving by Revere and a seal of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The capsule was opened once before in 1855 when the objects were cleaned and new ones added before being reburied. Officials are planning to put the items on display temporarily before packing and closing the capsule once more. Read more:
