A 10-month-old baby has been rescued by the Turkish coast guard after she floated 1km out to sea in a small inflatable. The baby’s family were enjoying a day on the beach at Küçükkuyu on Turkey’s southwest coast and reportedly forgot she was in the water. Strong winds and currents grabbed hold of the baby girl and sent her floating off in the direction of the Greek island of Lesbos. By the time bathers realised what was happening, it was too difficult to rescue the child from the sea and onlookers were forced to call in the coast guard. The baby was unharmed by the ordeal.
