
Baby Pinzón giant tortoises have hatched for the first time in 100 years in the Galapagos Islands. In 1970, scientists discovered only 19 adult tortoises on Pinzón Island and transferred them to Santa Cruz Island, where the animals were placed into a captive breeding program.
