A curious two-month-old baby elephant seal got up close and personal with a Canadian woman during an expedition to Snow Hill Island in the Antarctic Peninsula.  The pup, who weighs 200 pounds, crawled into the woman's lap, likely because it was craving company due to its difficult weaning process. Baby seals are abandoned early by their mothers after nursing and are left to fend for themselves ashore before working up the courage to head out to sea. Read more:
