
January 26 marks Australia’s national day and a public holiday filled with barbecues, citizenship ceremonies, and public debate. On social media people are calling it invariably Australia Day, Invasion Day or Survival Day. Aboriginal leader Warren Mundine used the day to draw attention to the need for a national treaty to enforce Indigenous land rights and preserve the culture of Australia's original inhabitants.
