Many would-be diners at the Melbourne outpost of Heston Blumenthal’s iconic restaurant, The Fat Duck, were disappointed when lottery winners were announced last week, but disappointment has now turned to anger. On realising IP addresses were not recorded by the balloting system, scammers registered multiple times using fake names to secure tables which are now being sold on to friends or scalped for higher prices than the already costly AU$525 per 15-course meal (without drinks).
