
Human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, wife of George Clooney, is to form part of the team representing Mohamed Nasheed, the jailed former president of the Maldives. Clooney has become famous for drawing attention to human rights issues around the world, and will now be helping the former premier challenge a conviction for terrorism that has been condemned by international observers for lack of due process.
