
The Alhambra palace in Granada received more than 2.4 million visitors in 2014, the most the complex has ever received. The busiest day was May first, which is a national holiday in Spain, with 9,329 tourists visiting the site. Visitor numbers were up 20% for the month of January and 10% for February, traditionally some of the quietest months. Spain as a whole enjoyed record visitor numbers in 2014, with 61.7 million tourist arrivals in the first eleven months. Read more: thelocal.es
