My earliest holiday memory is…

During cold Canadian winters, my family would escape to Mexico and the Dominican Republic for some beach time. I’d basically spend the entire time in the ocean (Pisces!) and playing tennis with my father.

The first time I went on a plane was…

I was a little kid, maybe four.  We were on a shuttle taking us to the plane and I started unpacking my little backpack of its contents, namely animal toys, thinking we were on the plane already.

The one city I have fallen in love with is…

Rome. Hands down.

An under-rated destination I have been to is…

Puerto Rico. El Yunque is magical as are artistic districts within San Juan.

The place that didn’t impress me much is….

Las Vegas, although I was not expecting it to…

On holiday I mostly like to …

Eat, read, walk, and explore side streets.

The one place I think that should be on every bucket list is…

Kaua’i. From the Queen’s Baths to Hanalei Bay to pontoon trips on the ocean, it’s a reminder that nature still exists!

Add to your bucket list… The Na Pali Coast in Hawaii. Image by Alexander Cole/500px

If I could travel anywhere now it would be to…

London. I was there last week for work and sad I did not get to explore and enjoy it more.

My holiday reading and listening this year is….

Frank Ocean and Lorde is great for travel, as long as Buena Vista Social Club when down South.

The hotel and meal I will never forget is…

Pork chop at Kiki’s Taverna in Mykonos. As for hotel, Blake’s in London is as moody and chic as it gets for me.

My one tip for travelling is …

Be curious and don’t always stick to a plan.

My next trip is ….

Milan! I’ve only been in passing and looking forward to spending a few days exploring contemporary galleries there. Also, Como is a short train ride away.
