With World Cup excitement hitting a crescendo around the globe, a hotel in Dubai is getting in on the act by offering six diehard footie fans the chance to watch the big final in serious indulgence.
Touting a football-pitch-styled suite, stretch hummer limo pick-up and dedicated referee butlers, the one-night-only package at Fairmont Dubai costs a whopping Dhs100,000 (€23,466). Getting guests into the spirit, the games begin as a stretch hummer will swing around the city collecting the six football-mad fans from their homes, hotels or even from the airport if people have just landed in Dubai.
Awaiting them in the hotel’s 34th-floor penthouse suite will be a footie fan’s heaven, with the usual polished marble floors being replaced with metres and metres of artificial grass. A foosball table in the centre of the 548 square-metre suite will be ideal for a spot of pre-match action. Tailored football jerseys – bearing each of the guests’ names – will be delivered to the suite by a butler decked-out in his referee kit who’ll be on hand throughout the evening. A private barman will make sure all drinks orders are taken care of and a personal chef will deliver football snacks on another level.
When the game kicks off, oversized leather chairs with built-in massage functions will be a bit of a step up from standard plastic stadium seats. A 103-inch LED TV will make sure that no-one misses a single second of the match, despite the spectacular backdrop of Dubai’s twinkling Sheikh Zayed Road. There’s even a photographer booked to capture the highlights.
Post-match celebrations (or commiserations) will take place in Cirque Le Soir, the eccentric circus-themed nightclub downstairs in the Fairmont Dubai and a red carpet entrance and VIP table awaits. Guests can party into the small hours without worrying about their pounding heads, as next morning breakfast will be served in the suite’s jacuzzi area – the perfect remedy. And to help folks get over that dreaded sense of loss bound to ensue when a solid month and 64 matches of World Cup action come to a close, the hotel is lending guests a supercar each – think McLaren or Lamborghini – to get themselves home in style.
Fancy indulging and have a spare Dhs100,000? The only drawback could be that you need to book by 8 July so you might need to take a gamble on whether your team will actually be playing in the final or not. Find out more here.
