Summer is calling at London’s first bottomless brunch on the beach

With the sun beginning to shine that little bit brighter and the days growing longer, Londoners looking to embrace the splendour of summer have all the more reason to celebrate, as the city’s first ever bottomless brunch on the beach has just been announced.

Every year during the summer period, four-star hotel The Montague on the Gardens near the British Museum in Bloomsbury installs a pop-up beach bar, with the aim of creating a space that makes it all the easier for guests to kick back and relax with a cold drink. This year, weekends will see the bar hosting an event that features two hours of unlimited summer cocktail refills, along with brunch-inspired sharing platters.

Complete with real sand and a beach-hut with a thatched roof, the Bahamian themed celebration will include a menu of classic tropical cocktails that include Pina Coladas, Mimosas, Bloody Marys and Vodka Melon Coolers. The menu is comprised of brunch-inspired platters with items such as avocado and smoked salmon on granary toast, black pudding scotch eggs, Cumberland sausage with red onion chutney in a brioche bun, mini chicken and bacon burger, fried camembert with cranberry sauce and ice cream cones to finish. The hotel will also include a number of vegetarian and vegan dishes that are available upon request.

“Our annual beach bar installation, which we launched for the first time in summer 2016, has been quite the hit with Londoners. This year we wanted to offer something bigger and better for guests on the weekend, and knowing how much Londoners love their brunch, we thought why not combine the two and create the city’s very first brunch on the beach. Urban beaches have been popping up all over London, so we wanted to marry our existing beach bar concept with bottomless brunch to create a summer installation like no other,” said Dirk Crokaert, General Manager of The Montague on the Gardens.

Visitors will be seated in the hotel’s conservatory for brunch, and will have full access to the beach bar installation on the wooden deck for cocktails. Brunch slots are available between 11am to 1pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm every Saturday and Sunday until September. The two-hour bottomless brunch is priced at £39 (€34) per person.
