If you’re dying to catch a glimpse of the newly-unveiled waxwork of Prince Harry’s bride-to-be, Meghan Markle, you can be the first to do so by attending an exclusive over-18s hen and stag at Madame Tussauds London the night before the royal wedding.
The new attraction will officially open to the public in London on the royal wedding day, Saturday 19 May, so the stag and hen party attendees will get the very first look at the happy couple. The happy occasion will go with a swing thanks to a bar and live DJ.
Standing alongside a re-styled figure of her groom, Prince Harry, who now sports a dashing beard, Meghan’s figure is wearing the green P.A.R.O.S.H. dress she wore for her engagement announcement and interview. A replica of the engagement ring designed by Harry himself sparkles on her left hand.
The figures of Harry and Meghan will be placed in front of a 15-foot-wide video wall that will give guests options on how they would like to hang out with the couple. Visitors can choose from a range of backdrops and props to capture a moment with the young royals – from the cutting of the cake at their wedding to relaxing on a private beach.
On the day of the royal wedding itself, Madame Tussauds London and its famous figures will be patriotically dressed to the nines, streaming live coverage of the big event to guests as the royal bride and groom’s figures make their official arrival. The attraction will also be offering free entry to guests named Meghan or Harry who bring valid ID.
“Excitement ahead of the royal wedding is reaching fever pitch and we have been inundated with questions about when people can finally meet ‘Their Royal Likenesses,’”says Edward Fuller, general manager. “There is a lot of love out there for Meghan and Harry and we’re following their lead by inviting the great British public to join the couple in their wedding celebrations here at Madame Tussauds London.”
Madame Tussauds London’s sister attraction in New York is also showcasing its own unique Meghan figure. Marking the first time a US citizen will join the British Royal Family in 80 years, the ‘American Princess’ will strike a different pose and feature a striking outfit worn by Meghan and designed by British label Self-Portrait.
Tickets for A Royal Hen and Stag Do, which takes place on Friday 18 May from 7.30pm, are £29 (€33) and include a complimentary glass of prosecco or non-alcoholic option. To book online, visit here.
