These are the top hotels for the private-jet-setting crowd

Even if your travel style is more backpacks and hostels than private chefs and villas, it can still be nice to dream of a luxury vacation. That’s a lot easier when checking out the list of the top 100 hotels in the world for 2018, according to private jet lifestyle magazine, Elite Traveler.

The list features spots favoured by celebrities, like the Venice hotel where George and Amal Clooney spent their wedding night – the Belmond Cipriani – or a Brazilian resort where musical stars like Justin Bieber and Mick Jagger hang out – the Belmond Copacabana Palace.

It’s the second time that the magazine for the rich jet-setting crowd has released its list of the most opulent hotel experiences around the world, and this year’s list includes 14 new spots, including the Fogo Island Inn, located off the coast of Canada’s Newfoundland along its “Iceberg Alley”.

The most expensive suite can be found at the Four Seasons New York, which costs US$50,000 per night. Even more expensive is the exclusive rental of Cliveden House, a five-star country house in Berkshire, UK, which costs $70,000 each night.
