Shopping in New York is always amazing, but a new pop-up in SoHo is poised to draw the crowds there. Actress Drew Barrymore has just opened a boutique on Crosby Street selling products from her Dear Drew lifestyle brand, which launched in November on Amazon Fashion.
The 2000-square-foot space is selling clothes, handbags, jewellery, luggage, hair tools and loungewear, with prices ranging from $28 to $248. Drew also has her own beauty range called Flower Beauty. The pop-up is due to remain open for around six months, and was designed in-house by Drew and her interior design partner, Francesca de la Fuente. When Dear Drew went live on Amazon Fashion, the actress said the brand is “a love letter to women around the world,” and is intended to “empower customers to be their best selves and live their most inspired, spirited lives.”
The store has three dressing rooms and a living room area, complete with sofas where Champagne, water and tea are served to customers. The idea was to create an inviting cosy space where both shopping and lounging are welcome. There are also whimsical items such as a sewing machine, writing desk and vintage typewriter dotted around the place, and around 85% of the furnishings in the store came from Drew’s own house.
And appealing to Lonely Planet’s beating heart, the store has a travel theme that includes vintage suitcases, globes and hot air balloon wallpaper. “When we got this space, it was genuinely a white box,” Drew told People at the opening event. “And then I was like, ‘I know, let’s turn it into an interior of a train or an airport — a Pan Am or TWA terminal.”
Dear Drew is open on 14 Crosby Street, SoHo. See its Instagram here.
