These are the cheapest cities to stay in every month of 2018

As 2017 comes to an end, travel-centric people all over the world are already planning their next adventures. With that in mind, Booking.com has released a brand new list for the most thrifty travel destinations for 2018.

Released this week, the pricing calendar breaks down the best time to stay in destinations around the world when trying to maximise value-for-money, and was correlated by looking at the average prices per night of three-, four- and five-star accommodations in the most popular global cities. In order to determine which cities to recommend for each month, the website looked at the yearly overview of pricing fluctuations to outline the best time to stay in the chosen destinations.

January – Copenhagen, Denmark

January in Copenhagen was 41% more affordable than the most expensive month of the year.

February – Buenos Aires, Argentina

February in Buenos Aires proved 16% more affordable than the most expensive month of the year.

 March – Kuta, Indonesia

Kuta was 33% more affordable in March than the most expensive month of the year.

April – Zürich, Switzerland

The data showed that Zürich was 15% more affordable in April than during the most expensive month of the year.

May – Melbourne, Australia

People travelling to Melbourne are most likely to find a good deal in May, with the city proving 22% more affordable at that time than the most expensive month of the year.

June – Chiang Mai, Thailand

June in Chiang Mai was 26% more affordable than the most expensive month of the year.

July – Abu Dhabi, UAE

Abu Dhabi had the most affordable accommodation in July, showing it to be 46% more affordable than the most expensive month of the year.

September – Mexico City, Mexico

October – Auckland, New Zealand
