The four-bed house is located behind a gated entry on five wooded acres outside of Olalla. It was built in the 1970s by Richey and Karen Morgan, who loved the Grimm brothers’ story and subsequent Disney movie of Snow White, a young princess whose wicked stepmother is so jealous of her, she orders a huntsman to kill her.

He spares her life and she comes across an adorable tiny cottage in the forest belonging to a group of seven dwarfs, who become her friends. The wicked stepmother eventually tricks her into eating a poisoned apple that causes her to fall into a state of suspended animation, but when a prince travelling through the land kisses her, it breaks the spell and Snow White wakes up and ends up marrying the prince.

The 2800 sq ft Washington house is a wonderful version of the dwarves’ cottage, and it has extreme high pitched and deeply sloped roofs, a twisted wooden bridge and quirky treehouse.

It may look like a fairytale dwelling with stained glass windows and a massive indoor tree trunk, but it has five bathrooms, every modern convenience and high speed Internet.  The tree trunk ascends to a second floor open loft with a bath, and the house has a hot tub/spa, a patio for outdoor living, RV parking and a creek on the property with garden area and fruit trees.

The interior of the house has stone, stuccoed walls, huge, hand-carved beams and adorable rounded hand-built wooden doors of various sizes with intricate iron hinges. There’s fireplaces and a wood stove, a raised, rounded kitchen fireplace, and no square walls.  The tower treehouse in the garden comes complete with a small room with its own fireplace.

The family who built the house lived in it until 2005. The person who bought it from them, Evonne Bess, continued the theme and enhanced the interior. She is now offering her enchanting Snow White cottage for sale, priced at $775,000.
