Force Friday is part of a weekend-long event that happens around the world, marking the day new merchandise from the iconic franchise hits the shelves. John Lewis Oxford Street is taking part, opening its doors at midnight for excited shoppers. The store will be transformed with replicas, but many people will be pleased to find they can pick up a free drink at the replica of Mos Eisley’s Cantina – home to the iconic Han Solo scene in A New Hope – while they take part in some late-night shopping. Because places are limited, fans can register for the event online here.

The store will open at 12 am on Friday 1 September and will stay open until 2 am. However, there will be events happening through the weekend and even longer. Throughout September and October, customers can take part in Star Wars-inspired experiences, including coding and building their very own droid.

But even if you’re not in London, there are events happening around the world for Star Wars fans. To mark the release of the new products inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Disney and Lucasfilm have created ‘Find the Force’, a pop-up Augmented Reality (AR) treasure hunt that will take place around the world in a three-day event.
