Petra Island, located in Mahopac Lake, New York State, is an incredible home that was designed by the famous American architect. However, the home is not recognized by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation as it was created based on sketches by the architect and not a blueprint.

The home has been listed for a cool $14.9 million by real estate company Chilton & Chadwick. The six-bedroom and 6000-sq ft home is located on an 11-acre, heart-shaped private island. On the island are the main home, as well as two guest houses, a tea room and a dock.

Those who can actually afford the home may be thrilled to find that it also has a helipad on the roof, with space to build a pool, tennis court or anything else you desire.

The home is only a 15-minute helicopter ride from Manhattan – or a 4.5-minute helicopter ride from Westchester County Airport, according to the listing.

But, if you’re a fan of the famous architect and you don’t have millions to drop on a holiday home, you can still explore some of his most famous buildings. Earlier this year, Wisconsin kicked off a nine-stop Frank Lloyd Wright Trail that takes travellers to explore some of his most incredible designs located in the region, like his own home of Taliesin.

Or, head to the Guggenheim museum in New York to see one of Wright’s most striking creations, or the stunning house of Fallingwater in Pennsylvania, which overlooks an amazing waterfall.
