A hotel at Disneyland Paris is about to get a superhero makeover as it becomes a “new Marvel-themed wonderland”.
An existing hotel will be transformed into Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, which will be sure to thrill fans of characters like Iron Man, Captain America, Deadpool and Black Widow. With Marvel churning out blockbuster films like Thor and Guardians of the Galaxy on a pretty steady basis, there’s certain to be a huge appeal for many travellers heading to the Paris-based theme park.
“At Europe’s top tourist destination, we have big plans to do that in a way that is uniquely Disney,” said Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Bob Chapek in a statement. “We’re going to create a hotel at Disneyland Paris that would make Tony Stark proud… The Art of Marvel will transport our guests to the action-packed, inspiring world of Super Heroes including Iron Man, The Avengers, Spider Man and more!”
Disney made a slew of announcements about the future of its parks around the world at an expo in Anaheim last week. Among them were also plans for a Star Wars-inspired themed resort that would immerse visitors in the epic space opera.
In the wake of Disney acquiring the rights to Marvel and Star Wars – two massive properties with huge followings – the company’s parks have seen a huge spike in attractions centred on the associated films. Star Wars and Marvel lands are coming to parks in the US and Shanghai, while new rides have already started opening. Among the most high-profile is a new Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Disney California Adventure Park, which made made headlines – though mostly for replacing the beloved Tower of Terror.
