The already vibrant beach club scene in Mykonos has just welcomed a stunning new addition in the form of high-end beach resort SantAnna. SantAnna is situated in Paranga Beach on the southern coast of the Greek island, and among its best features is its 22,600 square feet saltwater pool. This is the largest beachfront pool in Europe and it contains 222,000 gallons of water.
SantAnna is a 100,000-square-foot complex with a 300-seater capacity Mediterranean restaurant, with menus designed by chef Christos Athanasiadis. There is also a 45-seater sushi and raw restaurant and three bars. Live entertainment is a big feature of the resort, and is curated by New York award-winning broadcast journalist and DJ, Arthur Chi’en. Guests enjoy low-key ambient selections playing throughout the morning and daytime, which eases into a more up-tempo atmosphere as the evening warms up. SantAnna will host an all-star line-up of local and international DJs as well as soon-to-be-announced top international music acts.
The amazing pool is surrounded by beach beds, cabanas, lounges, chaises and awnings, and there are subterranean hangout spaces underneath it. Guests can book a ‘VIP island’ and have access to an underground cabin with a shower and lounge area. The resort also offers five fashion boutiques, a spa, salon and gym. There are custom concierge services offering island tours, private transportation, helicopter services, water taxis, golf carts and any other requests.
The property’s contemporary luxury is balanced by a minimalist approach that reflects the grace of the natural surroundings. It pays homage to its Greek origins by featuring custom-made textiles and indigenous materials, such as stone that is naturally found in the Cyclades.
“Mykonos is known the world over as a vibrant summer destination among jet-setters and discerning travellers, but we found a need to cater to a more diverse and inclusive clientele,” says Dimitris Christoforidis of the Nice-n-Easy Restaurant Group. ”We want to offer an equally lively atmosphere, but in a more laid-back, chic environment, not only for revellers, but families, groups and single guests alike. SantAnna aims to redefine Mykonos as a destination beyond its posh party reputation.”
