'Tis the season – this is the best time to buy your Christmas flights

Even the most spontaneous traveller knows that booking flights ahead of time can mean serious savings, and while it may seem early to start planning for Christmas travel, the best windows to book flights to the most popular destinations for Americans are here.

Travel deal website Cheapflights.com looked at the data and found that some of the best prices for Christmas flights can be found between now and mid-September. The website created a guide that spells out the best time to get an affordable flight to some of the most popular destinations for the week of Christmas. If you want to head to Las Vegas for the holidays, now is the time to book, while if you want to go to New York, you can wait until the week of 24 September. Here’s when Cheapflights.com says that you’ll find the best airfares, on average, for Christmas week to the 10 most popular destinations.
