On 27 May, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! will start greeting fans of the superhero film, which follows a group of outlaws as they traverse through space. The ride will centre on a plot that involving “the Collector” or Tanaleer Tivan, according to Disney. Within the attraction, he has collected the Guardians and visitors will take part in a plot to free them.

While the new ride is sure to please fans of the incredibly popular film franchise, it wasn’t without a bit of concern for long-time visitors of California Adventure Park. The ride is housed in the former Tower of Terror – a popular and long-standing ride that many fans of the park were quite sad to see go. That ride, based on the Twilight Zone, took guests through a scary hotel where they would enter into a free-falling elevator. However, while the original is gone forever, travellers can still experience the ride at other parks around the world, including Tokyo DisneySea and Disneyland Paris.

The new attraction will still feature the terrifying drop that visitors loved so much, but with a new fast-paced plot. To get visitors intrigued, Disney released a series of teaser videos that give a sense of what guests can expect.
