Good news for anyone that may be dreaming of getting away from it all and connecting with the vast ruggedness of the US landscape while still holding on to the pleasant home comforts of a luxury retreat. A company has unveiled a series of new packages that enable guests to sleep beneath the stars in style this summer at stunning, unspoilt locations such as Vail, Colorado and Yellowstone, Montana.
Founded by Peter Mack and Cristina DeVito, Collective Retreats aims to help guests experience the best of a destination by providing accommodation that takes inspiration from the surrounding landscape, as well as offering a range of curated on-site activities and amenities such as dining experiences that feature local ingredients cooked by teams of trained chefs, and personalized concierge services.
The retreats are held in large canvas tents, each equipped with amenities such as Egyptian cotton linen bed clothes, in-tent French press coffee bars, chandeliers, closets and in-tent bathrooms. The tents also feature private decks as well as dining and massage areas.
The company partners with local landowners in each destination to utilize land that cannot be developed, creating offerings in locations that lack the infrastructure for larger resorts.
The company has already launched a seasonal retreat in Vail, Colorado, where guests can stay surrounded by 1,000 acres of working ranch land. The package offers horseback riding, as well as tours of the onsite winery. A retreat in Yellowstone, Montana is due to open this June, located within Big Sky’s Moonlight Basin community. The luxury tents will be set on a freshwater pond surrounded by mountains, and guests can take part in fly fishing and paddle-boarding. Retreats at Sonoma in California, Hudson Valley in New York and Texas Hill Country are also due to open this summer.
A stay at one of the retreats costs between $500 – $700 per night. More information on booking is available on the Collective Retreats website.
