It’s famously simple to drink on the go in the French Quarter of New Orleans, and for a few days this month, it will be even easier. The legendary Arnaud’s will be the first restaurant in the world to host a Champagne vending machine.
The Moët & Chandon machine will be stocked with 320 mini bottles of Imperial Brut, which patrons can access with a gold coin purchased for $20 at Arnaud’s French 75 bar. One of only three Champagne vending machines in the world (the other two are located in Las Vegas hotels), the technology somehow dispenses each bottle gently enough to prevent any shaking. Each little bottle of bubbly comes with a spout, letting patrons avoid pesky glasses and sip directly from the bottle.
The famously festive town is looking forward to the unique vending machine’s arrival. “Arnaud’s is thrilled to be the first restaurant in the world to offer such a novelty,” Katy Casbarian, co-owner of Arnaud’s, tells Lonely Planet. “As a nearly century-old restaurant, we focus on staying true to our courtesies and traditions, while also keeping a watchful eye on the future and what our customers want, need and expect. Having the opportunity to partner with a respected and iconic brand like Moet & Chandon to bring this state-of-the-art machine to New Orleans – where every day is a celebration – was a no-brainer. We look forward to raising a glass or mini-bottle with guests this week and leading into the Easter holiday weekend.”

The machine will be stocked with mini bottles of the champagne maker’s Imperial Brut. To make a purchase, guests can acquire @moetchandon branded gold coins available for $20 at The French 75 Bar. The machine carefully dispenses each bottle without shaking them. Founded in 1918, the iconic restaurant is situated steps from Bourbon Street in the French Quarter, and draws visitors for its classic Creole fare, live jazz, and award winning cocktails — most notably the French 75, made with Courvoisier VS, sugar, lemon juice, and Moët & Chandon Champagne.
The Moët & Chandon vending machine will be dispensing bubbles from 13-16 April.
