Gin is seeing a surge in popularity of tsunami-like proportions right now – and one holiday company wants to help you float blissfully to the high ground of a discerning palette with a dedicated gin cruise.

Dorset Cruises has launched two cruises to introduce gin lovers to some brands they may not have tried. On the Artisan Gin Cruise and Conker Gin Dorset Cruise, guests will climb aboard a vintage motor yacht named the Dorset Queen.

The Artisan Gin Cruise departs from Poole at 7 pm on 7 April for three hours of bliss. Guests will be guided through a range of artisan gins by experts and eat canapes while soaking in the sights of Sandbanks and Studland bay for £35 a ticket. If you really want to splash out, you can purchase a table for six for £300. For this price, they’ll throw in a 700 ml bottle of gin and some mixers.

The Conker Gin Cruise gives guests the chance to meet the makers of Dorset’s first gin distillery, Conker Gin. The makers will talk through the company’s history while guests are served three cocktails. Each guest will also leave with a signed bottle of gin.

It also includes a three-course meal at a fancy restaurant and some stunning views of the Purbeck Hills and the islands of Poole Harbour. Tickets are slightly pricier than the artisan cruise at £125 and there are only two dates available for this, 11 April and 25 April, so move fast!

The cruise is the latest tourism venture aimed towards gin-lovers. For a full gin holiday, you could try your hand making your very own bottle at Ireland’s gin school or stay in a dedicated gin hotel in London.
