How many times have you been dying for a bit of shut-eye while travelling, but couldn’t drift off because various factors conspired against you. We’ve all been there, but if a new smart travel pillow gets funded, it could help us to catch 40 winks while on the move.
The Smart Sleeper is the brainchild of Jennifer Cope and her team at the Global Travel Clothing company in Oklahoma. Mindful of the fact that grubby head rests, bright lights, stiff necks and even a safe place to keep a phone can hamper sleep during transit, they came up with a potential solution.
The Smart Sleeper has an adjustable hood and pillow made out of material that has gone through a special microbial treatment that prevents germ buildup. There’s an eye mask to shut out light, and a pillow with an ergonomic memory foam shape to add comfort.
The removable cover is machine washable, and there’s a carry bag to aid portability. You’ll have no more worries about the security of your phone or wallet while you’re sleeping as it has two inbuilt side pockets to put them in.
The Smart Sleeper is yet to become a reality, depending on whether it gets funded on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo, but the innovative design is steadily gaining support.
A variety of different specially designed rewards and perks are being offered to reward those who support the campaign in these early stages.
