These incredible macarons will make you consider a trip to Atlanta

If you’ve ever looked at a macaron and thought it was too pretty to eat, you definitely should not go to Mac Lab. This bakery outside of Atlanta, Georgia, takes this already complicated French confection up a few notches, with fanciful twists that have made waves on social media.

It’s not uncommon to see a rainbow spread of these bite-sized treats in a coffee shop or bakery, but at Mac Lab, seasonal offerings go beyond color changes to incorporate unique shapes like snowmen and reindeer.

Pop culture is also on the menu, including fads both recent (Pokemon) and enduring (Harry Potter).

Happy Sunday indeed!

Then there’s the just plain adorable: yes, I will have a hazelnut hedgehog macaron, thank you.

And best for last. These amazing unicorn macarons are magical . . . and so in-demand that Mac Lab has instituted a 5-per-person limit.

Currently these are available only at the bakery, although Mac Lab plans to offer shipping options in the future.
