If you’re anything like us, your heart sinks whenever you get allocated a middle seat on a flight. Passengers flying to Los Angeles International Airport may feel differently however, as a Californian hotel has recognised their pain and is offering middle seat passengers an ocean view room upgrade.
The enterprising Shore Hotel in Santa Monica knows that people who get stuck in the middle seat on flights are often subjected to a series of minor irritations. These include battling it out for armrest space, having both people in the adjoining seats encroaching on their space and being unable to look out the window.
General manager Gerry Peck said as the LA hotel has a beachfront location, it can make its tired and jetlagged guests more comfortable upon arrival. By giving them an ocean view upgrade, it can provide them with a view that is infinitely more enjoyable than the one they experienced on their flight.
Those who can show proof of a middle seat will receive a one room category upgrade to an ocean view room from March 1 to May 26 2017, subject to availability. Guests must have a pre-existing booking and will have been booked on a middle seat in coach class.
