When it comes to family-friendly attractions, Denmark is punching above its weight these days. It has just announced three brand new offerings that are sure to attract hordes of visitors.
The first will be known as Nordic Water Universe, and it will be located in Høje Taastrup in Copenhagen. It will be Scandinavia’s largest water park and the fifth-biggest in the world and is due to open in 2020.
The attraction will have an amusement village and nature park, a mini golf course, a playground, restaurants, shops and a conference centre. While the water park will open several years earlier, the entire project is expected to be completed by 2028 and will create 3000 new jobs.
The ever-popular Tivoli Gardens amusement park in Copenhagen is always great for a family-friendly day out. To enhance this even further, it is set to open a new concert venue called the Orangeriet in April, where it plans to host musical events every day. The greenhouse-style venue will be filled with rare flowers and exotic trees, and there will be a plant expert on hand to offer advice to visitors.
And finally, Skovbakken Swimming in Aarhus has announced that it is planning to open a swimming pool and water park complex at Vejlby-Risskov hall in 2020. Spread across three levels, it will include water pools, spas, saunas and Denmark’s second-longest water slide.
