Reykjavík will be aglow in a spectrum of colour next month for the Northern Lights Run

Next month will see Reykjavík radiating in a spectrum of bright colour, with hundreds of people due to take part in a special five-kilometre night run whilst wearing illuminating LED wristbands.

Runners will be given LED wristbands that synchronise to each individual stride.

Sponsored by WOW air, the brand new event is called the Northern Lights Run, which is part of the Reykjavík Winter Light Festival and the WOW Reykjavík International Games. Each runner will receive their own special wristband that synchronises to their personal running rhythm. Participants will also receive goody bags with other luminous items, and are encouraged to wear bright neon clothing for the event. The run begins and ends at the famous Harpa concert hall at the port of Reykjavík, and goes through the inner city. Participants will encounter various fun stations throughout the run, including vibrant light displays at the Art Museum, City Hall and Hallgrimskirkja.

Vibrant surprise installation will be set up along the course for runners to interact with also.

The WOWNLR promo code is valid for return trips from London Gatwick, Bristol and Edinburgh to Keflavik taking place between 27 January and 11 February.
