A unique attraction has broken the Guinness World Record for being the highest viewing deck ever to be placed on a cruise ship, which allows guests to watch the starry night sky from a unique and breathtaking vantage point.
Introduced in 2014 by Royal Caribbean, the North Star attraction is part of the cruise liner’s Quantum class line of ships and offers an exclusive experience that takes guests on a journey in a capsule that rises 300 feet in the air. The pod rotates upwards and over the sides of the ship, offering 360-degree views of the surrounding sea. The North Star can be seen on board the Quantum of the Seas, homeported in Beijing, Ovation of the Seas, homeported in Sydney and Anthem of the Sea, which currently sails from Cape Liberty Cruise Port in New York to Bermuda, The Bahamas and the Caribbean.
Famous sights that will be available to guests on board the ships include the statue of liberty in New York, Paradise Island in the Bahamas, the Milford Sound fiord in New Zealand, the Sydney Opera House and the Hong Kong Skyline. The stunning glass observation pod has been a hit with passengers over the past two years and just last week received the official designation as highest cruise ship observation desk in the world.
More information on experiencing the North Star attraction is available on the Royal Caribbean website.
