Get ready for Rogue One with new Star Wars experiences at Disney Hollywood Studios in Florida

As the world gets ready for the latest instalment in the Star Wars franchise, Rogue One, Disney Hollywood Studios in OrlandoFlorida has announced a list of new experiences that are sure to delight fans.

Starting Dec. 16, guests at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be able to see AWR Troopers from "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" when they join the popular daytime stage show "Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away." Outfitted in their specialized Stormtrooper armor with a dark, ominous gleam, these soldiers serve as bodyguards and enforcers for Director Krennic, a highly-placed officer within the Advance Weapons Research (AWR) division of the Empire. A new Troopers sequence will join the show, which runs daily at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Rogue One: A Stars Wars Story will be released in the theatres around the world on 16 December. Beginning in mid-December, Walt Disney World Resort will have a number of new entertainments, displays and more inspired by the film.

 

Star Wars Launch Bay – a walk-through attraction with movie props, videos and more – will be updated with authentic replicas from Rogue One. There will also be behind-the-scenes footage from the new film added to the “Meet the Makers” film, for those interested in how the incredible space sagas get made.

There will also be a live show, called “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away,” that will give guests the first look at Advance Weapons Research Troopers from the new film. In Rogue One, they serve as bodyguards and enforcers for Director Krennic, “a highly placed officer within the Advance Weapons Research (AWR) division of the Empire”, according to Disney. The new Troopers sequence will be added to the daily performances on 16 December.

The company has also announced beginning in mid-December, randomised tracks will be returning to Star Tours – the Adventures Continue, a popular attraction that uses motion simulator-based technology. Currently, each ride experience launches from the planet of Jakku, but soon the attraction will be randomised to both start and end at different locations for every journey. Next year, there will be new scenes from Star Wars: Episode VIII” added.

But if your trip to Florida isn’t happening until the New Year, never fear – the ultimate fan experience is an all new seven-hour Star Wars guided tour through all of the park’s current Star Wars-related experiences that launches next year. That means guests will get a dedicated tour guide and priority boarding for Star Tours, they will get to see Chewbacca and Kylo Ren at the Star Wars Launch Bay along with an insider’s tour. Guests will also get to enjoy Star Wars-themed menu items during dinner, and secure a spot at Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party, which includes themed sweets and specialty beverages. They will even get reserved viewing for the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks show.

But, the new offerings may still not be enough for huge fans of the series, but don’t worry, entire Star Wars-themed lands are now under construction at the theme park and at Disneyland Park in California.
