“The resort has been family owned since 1982. Our parents bought it when it was no more than a forest between an army checkpoint and a destroyed bridge. Since then, they have constructed Nordic-style chalets all around the lake,” Michael told Lonely Planet News. In 2002 Michael and his sister came to the family business, undertaking a full scale renovation and re-branding of the resort as a ‘back to nature‘ retreat offering modern interiors set in unspoiled woodland. The bubbles were created as part of a design collective involving local artisans from the area as well as international partners based in Spain.
