Attention glamping enthusiasts; an estate in Northern Ireland is offering a unique sleeping experience to lucky guests with these luxury 180 degree transparent bubble domes, that are available to rent in a forest by a lake.
Run by brother and sister duo Michael and Gillian Beare and located in Enniskillen in County Fermanagh, Finn Lough follows a rapidly growing trend that has seen unforgettable glamping experiences popping up across the world over the past few years. The seven bubbles offer guests the comfort and class of a hotel suite, with bespoke four poster beds and beautiful furnishings, while also allowing them to take in stunning views as they sleep beneath the stars beside Lough Erne. The bubbles also include en-suite bathrooms, Nespresso coffee machines, fluffy robes and slippers as well as daily breakfast.
“The resort has been family owned since 1982. Our parents bought it when it was no more than a forest between an army checkpoint and a destroyed bridge. Since then, they have constructed Nordic-style chalets all around the lake,” Michael told Lonely Planet News. In 2002 Michael and his sister came to the family business, undertaking a full scale renovation and re-branding of the resort as a ‘back to nature‘ retreat offering modern interiors set in unspoiled woodland. The bubbles were created as part of a design collective involving local artisans from the area as well as international partners based in Spain.
Finn Lough also features other accommodation choices, including a fisherman’s cottage, catered suites and lakeside lodges. Rates for the bubble domes start from £195 B&B. More information on renting is available on the Finn Lough website.
