Heading to the airport during the holiday season can be hectic, but one airport is hoping to make the experience more pleasant with a free ice-skating rink.
Is that one “cool” looking ice rink or what?! Opening Friday at 9 a.m.! (Oh, and it’s totally free…) pic.twitter.com/FgbxzUA1q9

Since the plaza is located pre-security, the rink will be open to the public. The free ice rink is open for everyone to enjoy 25 November to 1 January from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., daily. But, to make the event even more festive, there will be characters and carolers surprising the crowd as they spontaneously show up and provide entertainment.
The rink was made possible in partnership with United Airlines, according to the airport. Those who visit the rink will also have the opportunity to win two round-trip tickets on United Airlines.
The plaza will also house a holiday market, and will host screenings of classic holiday films throughout December.

“During the winter holiday travel season, millions of passengers pass through Denver International Airport en route to visit family and friends, to enjoy Colorado’s extraordinary wintertime recreation options, or just to connect to another part of the world,” said airport CEO Kim Day in a statement. “This year we are providing a variety of new entertainment options and we encourage passengers to come early and spend some extra time with us to enjoy the Colorado spirit at the airport.”
