Ever wanted to know what it's really like to be in the doghouse? Now you can find out at Idaho's beagle-shaped B&B

Some owners can really let their accommodation go to the dogs, and while that may be the case with this unique B&B, it actually means something entirely different than what you were thinking. That’s because the Dog Bark Park Inn in Idaho, USA features a room available for rent that is built inside a gigantic beagle statue.

The quirky property was created back in 2003 by Cottonwood residents Dennis Sullivan and Frances Conklin, and features a guesthouse that sleeps four people in its interior suite complete with full bath and a loft room in the head of the dog. The structure is built in the mimetic style that was most popular in America during the 1930’s to 1950’s when automobile vacation travel was a new and growing activity across the country.

The property has been maintained by the husband and wife team since 1997 and also features a picturesque sculpture park dedicated to their work as chainsaw artists. Dennis is a self-taught artist has been carving for over thirty years while Frances joined him in the interest twenty years ago. The park is open to visitors during daylight hours, where admission is free for them to tour the outdoor gallery of wooden dog sculptures, visit the artist’s studio and the visitor centre as well as perusing the gift shop. So far the couple have created 60 different breeds and poses of dogs carved out of wood, often working with customer photos to create special carvings of their canine companions.
