Fancy going for a relaxing dip? What about diving into this epic new swimming pool with an invisible horizon that is suspended 40 feet above the ground?
Located at The Hotel Hubertus at the foot of the famous ski area Kronplatz in Valdaora, Italy, the 82-metre-long Sky Pool is an innovative and exciting design that overlooks the famous Dolomites. Sitting at an altitude of 1350 metres, it acts as a connector between old and new, with the hotel having recently undergone refurbishment that saw the addition of 16 new suites, an entrance area with a lobby, a wine cellar, fitness centre and a relaxation room with panoramic terraces. The cantilevering pool rests between the two accommodation wings of the hotel, and has been described by the designers as a floating rock that looks like it has come to rest at the site.
The hidden edges of the pool, kept in anthracite-coloured stone, blur the gap between pool and landscape, creating the impression of water flowing into nothing. The pool gives swimmers the feeling that they are floating high in the air, with the sensation reinforced by the glass front and glazed window at the bottom of the pool.
Don’t have the stomach to take the plunge? The Hotel Hubertus also features an indoor sensory swimming pool as well as an outdoor saltwater pool and a Jacuzzi for a more relaxing experience. More information on the new additions to the site is available at The Hotel Hubertus website.
