Looking for a rustic woodland escape with a touch of home comfort? Then you may want to check out this luxury tree house available to rent in south-west England, that comes complete with an open air tree-shower, a revolving wood burner and a private deck set amongst the branches of veteran oak.
Created by Guy Mallinson and nestled in the beautiful woodlands of Dorset, the Woodman’s Treehouse is a two-storey retreat that offers guests a unique combination of peace and glamour. It features a king-sized bed, a double-ended copper bath, a private sauna, a stainless steel slide and a hot tub on the upper deck.
A rotating fireplace can be pointed towards the bed, sofa or kitchen, offering the ultimate cosy experience in winter while a wood fired pizza oven and barbecue can be used on the huge rear deck in summertime. Opened this year, the private site offers uninterrupted vistas of the surrounding Dorset woodlands through the tree canopy, and even has a large ceiling window above the bed to enhance the rustic feel.
Built on long stilts, the structure is in excess of 30-feet-high on the roof deck and does not actually touch the trees. This allows rain water to run down the stems for uninterrupted harmony with nature that does not inhibit the ecosystem of the oak tree.
The Woodman’s Treehouse is part of an existing glamping site that features two yurts, one tepee, one shepherd’s hut and three bell tents. The tree house sleeps two people and is available for rent all year round. The luxury retreat also features workshops where guests can hone their woodworking skills in the tranquil surroundings. Prices start from £390 per night. More information is available on the Mallinson website.
