Which airports does one expert rate as the greatest (and not so great) in the US

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the best airport in the US and New York’s LaGuardia Airport is deemed to be the worst, according to a new study conducted by ThePointsGuy.com.

The study looked at 30 of the busiest airports in the US and weighed them based on categories like flight delays, security waits, distance from the city centre, bars and restaurants, based on data from the Federal Aviation Administration, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, J.D. Power, Google Maps, iFly.com and the airports’ official websites.

The top consideration was what airports can get travellers to their destination on time, followed by how easy it is to get to the airport, and amenities. Phoenix Sky Harbor made the top spot due to its short distance from the city centre, having the third cheapest parking, the third most bars and restaurants per capita, and the fifth-fewest flight cancellations. LaGuardia got its low rank due to having the most flight delays and cancellations, as well as the most expensive parking.
