You can dine in a pop-up igloo along the river Thames this winter

This must be a first for London: a restaurant along the Thames has introduced a selection of large pop-up igloos that allow guest to stay warm and cosy while they eat, drink and appreciate the stunning views of Tower Bridge and the Tower of London this winter.

The unique idea was created by restaurant-bar Coppa Club, who yesterday unveiled the seven giant igloos that are available for booking on their terrace by the riverside. The custom-made igloos are fully furnished and lit, and come complete with heating, sheepskin blankets and speakers. They are available for private hire and walk ins, with two of the igloos housing large tables of up to eight while the others all have smaller tables and lounge areas.

The available menu includes the standard Coppa selection as well as a new range of festive cocktails including a maple old fashioned, spiced berry caipirissima and hot mulled wine. Christmas dishes such as porchetta, slow cooked duck leg and roast turkey with all the trimmings are also on the menu to help get people into the festive mood. A Christmas menu priced at £29.95 will be available from November 16 until the end of December.
