A useful update has been unveiled by Google Flights that will help people get cheaper airfares by monitoring changes and notifying users when prices are likely to change.

The interface allows users to input specific times and routes that they are interested in and it will then save those settings and monitor them. After selecting a specific flight, a notification will appear on particular choices letting people know when the current fare is expected to expire and how much can be saved by booking immediately.

The site also makes it possible to browse through live flight prices, sharing tips on how to find the best price for particular routes. This can include alternative airport selections or other dates. For people that are keen to go to a certain destination but are not ready to book yet, a new option is due to be introduced that will allow users to track flights and receive notifications on price changes. As well as expected changes, users will receive updates when prices change in real time.
