Hundreds of couples get married in group ceremony to celebrate Chinese university

A mass wedding ceremony was held in China last weekend that saw 123 couples getting married at the same time.

The event was organised as part of the celebrations to honour the 123rd anniversary of the Wuhan University in Hubei Province. All of the people that took part in the ceremony were former students of the University, and showed their dedication to the institution by taking a walk down the aisle and tying the knot.

The ceremony was held on a playground near the science building at Wuhan University, and saw 123 brides in a variety of wedding dresses marrying their partners in the presence of University headmaster Li Xiaohong as well as hundreds of delighted friends, families and onlookers.
