Bran Castle is located in the Carpathian Mountains in Romania. The incredible manor home has become associated with the legend of Dracula and is often referred to as “Dracula’s Castle”.

Airbnb is offering up a night in the castle for two lucky guests, who will be flown in from anywhere in the world and whisked through Transylvania in a horse-drawn carriage to the castle, similar to the scene in Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula. In fact, the guests will be greeted by the Irish writer’s great-grandnephew Dacre Stoker. According to the listing, he will be the host and the “resident expert on Transylvanian lore”.

Guests will be able to explore the castle, checking out all 57 rooms, which include tower lookouts and crypts. They will head through a secret passage that leads to a grand dining room, where they will be treated to a candlelit dinner “prepared exactly as described in Bram Stoker’s novel”. The guests will then be left to sleep in velvet-trimmed coffins in the Count’s crypt.

To enter, the brave must write in what they would say to the Count if they came “face-to-fang” with him in his castle. The winners have only some simple rules to follow: no garlic or garlic-scented items; leave silver jewellery behind; beware of bats in the castle tower; and close the curtains before sunrise.

But for anyone who would like to spend more than just one night at the legendary castle, the property was put up for sale this year, at a price of £47 million.
