On top of the world in Norway: breathtaking images of mountain climber, 5000 feet up

The collection of breathtaking images shows one photographer’s girlfriend standing at 5000 feet up whilst overlooking the beautiful Norwegian fjords. Other images show her perching on a ledge as though she is sitting on top of the world.

Norwegian warehouse worker Johan Kistrand (33) walked for up to five hours to each location to capture the beautiful images. Accompanied by his girlfriend who also features in the shots, the locations were situated anywhere between six and eighteen miles apart.

“In my pictures I want to highlight the beauty of nature,” he said. “I wanted to get a different perspective on views and including a person in the image seemed to work. I love this type of photography because I can combine my two hobbies of outdoor adventure and photography.”

The stunning images were taken in More and Romsdal, Norway. The region is also home to some of the longest waterfalls in the country with its landscape rich in rolling valleys, deep fjords and sheer mountains.

“When people see the pictures with their own eyes, they can’t believe the spectacular views. “I have a very patient girlfriend who is very important for me to get the shots.”
