Oh the devastation! Brangelina's wax figures have been separated at Madame Tussauds

Following on from the shock news that Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are getting divorced, tourist attraction Madame Tussauds in London has announced that it has physically separated the wax figures of the erstwhile couple.

The current wax figures of the golden couple were unveiled in December 2013 ahead of Brad’s 50th birthday, when the couple were enjoying presumably happier times in their 12-year-long relationship. While they were originally placed side-by-side in the popular London tourist attraction, now that has Angelina filed for divorce, Madame Tussauds clearly felt that it was no longer appropriate to present Brangelina as a duo.

Whatever about real-life, the wax version of the split hasn’t been acrimonious. A spokesperson for Madame Tussauds said that the two figures are being kept a “respectful distance from each other. Studio assistants Alex Cameron and Olivia Steen were tasked with the sad task of “diplomatically” moving the waxworks apart.

Angelina has now been moved over near the wax figure of actress Nicole Kidman, who had her own marital difficulties when her marriage to husband Tom Cruise ended. Brad is chilling out with his old pal and fellow actor Morgan Freeman, with whom he starred in the film Seven.

As we reported earlier this week, the formerly happy couple own a number of properties, including homes in Los Angeles, France and New Orleans. The pair are also are parents to six children, three of whom are adopted. Madame Tussauds has confirmed that the couple have also been split up at its museums in the US and other locations.
