If you want a little inspiration with your relaxation, Marriott Hotels are aiming to provide a bit with a new partnership that will provide guests with content from TED Talks.
The non-profit organisation TED, which is focused on “ideas worth spreading”, is best known for its series of short talks. The new partnership will bring inspirational content to travellers staying at Marriott Hotels, on themes like curiosity, innovation, travel and entrepreneurship. Guests will be able to access blogs, curated TED Talks and inspirational quotes through their room’s entertainment system, and when logging into Wi-Fi. There will also be five global TED Talks Fellows salons in Seattle, London, Dubai, Bangkok and Santiago throughout this year and next.
“At Marriott Hotels, everything we do is guided by our belief that travel expands the mind and triggers new and creative ways of thinking. We know that travellers today look for more in a hotel and we are bringing to life new innovations that help elevate guests’ stays to memorable experiences,” said Matthew Carroll, vice president and global brand manager of Marriott Hotels. “TED content does not only entertain, but educates and engages on topics that are relevant to our guests. Together we are delivering a series of original content, events and experiences that will spark travellers’ creativity and inspire new perspectives.” While TED and Marriott will be offering new and exclusive content through their partnership, there are new TED videos posted on the website every day. As more and more hotels offer unique amenities, a recent survey found that most travellers actually have very simple needs. After good Wi-Fi, guests most wanted more power outlets and streaming services like Netflix or HBO Go.
