McDonalds creates a pop-up Monopoly Hotel in Melbourne

To mark the return of its famous Monopoly game in Australia, McDonald’s created a pop-up hotel modelled after a game piece in Melbourne.

Macca’s – as the fast food giant is known in Australia – set up the Monopoly hotel in Federation Square on 7 September. It’s the first real-life McDonald’s Monopoly Hotel and for one night was host to two of the country’s biggest fans of the food. Laura Paton and Emma Kendrick were exclusive guests of the hotel and are the first major official prize winners of the Monopoly game at Macca’s.

According to local radio station KIIS 101.1, the hotel is 2.4 X 3 metres and Mr. Monopoly showed up to serve as the concierge for the contest winners.
