Arriving at your destination with a suitcase full of creased clothes is disappointing, but don’t worry, help is at hand! An Austrian luggage brand has patented a system that claims to keep garments wrinkle-free. The company behind the innovation is Vocier, and its ‘zero-crease’ system is said to make a difference as it bends items of clothing rather than folding them. It also contains a built-in protective sleeve that curves around the interior of the suitcase to simultaneously safeguard the items stored inside.
While we have had some great innovations in suitcase design, including the smart suitcase that doubles as a mode of transport, and the case with built-in chargers and GPS tracking, this particular invention will appeal to travellers who are sick of having to whip out an iron as soon as they arrive at their destination.
While the luggage range is particularly aimed at those travelling for business and carrying suits, it could also work for other travellers who are looking to reduce the creases that packing usually causes. According to Vocier, these wrinkles are caused by pressure and tight corners, and its patented design eliminates these to keep clothing smooth. Despite the carry-on bag’s compact dimensions, the brand claims that a week‘s worth of items will fit in comfortably, including up to two suits, shirts, shoes, underwear and a wash bag.
It recommends packing shoes into socks to save space, and contains a handle with an integrated pocket that lets you conveniently store passport and credit cards. The luggage range is currently available in carry-on size and prices begin at €595, and there are also briefcases, travel bags and other items available. Further information can be found here.
