Plans for a giant 110-metre yacht with a glass bottom have been unveiled by New York based design firm Gill Schmid Design.
The Halcyon Superyacht project proposes the use of floor to ceiling undulating glazing as part of its design, using a combination of white and reflective glass to maximise privacy in certain places. The white one-way glass system would be transparent from the inside and opaque from the outside.
The vessel’s design features two glass-bottomed swimming pools, one on the main deck and one on a staggered section of the upper deck with a waterfall flowing between the two levels. The plans also include a large owner suite with his and her saunas, six guest and two VIP suites, two hull infinity Jacuzzis, a cocktail lounge with panoramic views, a gym, casino and a full helicopter landing pad with observatory deck.
While the yacht is yet to be built, the design has been developed to a level of detail that makes it available for clients to purchase and begin construction on.
