You can go glamping on this hotel rooftop in New York City – for $2000 a night

Why stay in a hotel room when you can have a sleepover on the roof? W New York hotel is offering a glamping experience for anyone who wants to have all the fun of getting outside with none of the wilderness.

The hotel is located in Midtown Manhattan, which is not an area generally associated with the great outdoors, but the suite is far from what one would expect for a camping trip. W New York has partnered with the interior design company Laurel & Wolf to create a glamorous 12-foot yurt that comes with a city-friendly fire pit and a lounge area for anyone who wants a little outdoors without all the effort.

The yurt is decorated with bright fabrics, glowing lanterns and a canopy of twinkling lights, and will be open until November if weather permits. Guests who book the overnight package for $2000 will get a bottle of champagne from Veuve Clicquot and a Laurel & Wolf interior design package to bring home.

The new suite comes at the height of the glamping craze, as the term was recently added to the Oxford English Dictionary.
